Article writing and distribution has an immeasurable impact in driving targeted traffic into your real estate websites. Articles are a factor in giving sites high rankings in search result pages. The higher a real estate site ranks, the bigger slice of the web traffic pie it gets.

But, it is not just about stuffing your site with articles. Good article writing has to follow specific guidelines to obtain maximum benefits for your real estate websites. Keywords are important! That can't be stressed enough. Considering that search engines are still the primary way in which people look for anything on the internet, it means that people who are looking for real estate related information, are going to be doing so on search engines.

So, when talking about positioning your articles, it essentially means positioning them in the relevant searches, so that there are more opportunities for them to be found by the people you have targeted.

What happens if this isn't done? Well, say you wrote an article about the Nettles Island, Florida real estate market, but you didn't optimize it with keywords that are being searched for a decent amount of times per month. Basic keyword research is really pretty easy, and there isn't too much about it that even beginner writers can't come to grips with. To start off with, the keyword research tool of choice is Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Seeing as Google is the most popular search engine around, getting data from it seems to be a logical place to begin.

Enrich your real estate related articles with the keywords you have found. Be advised, there is a difference between enriching and keyword stuffing, and search engines are smart enough to recognize when someone is trying to fool them.

'Keyword density' is the number of times a certain keyword appears per 100 words of the article. Insert keywords and phrases in such a way that they flow smoothly through the article following the 1% to 3% keyword density rule closely. Each article should generally have one 'short' keyword of about 2 to 3 words, and two or three 'long tail' keywords of 4 or more words.

The number varies depending on the number of words used in an article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low. With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader as well as the search engines. It comes off as overeager. A low number may be ignored by the search engines.

Instead of merely cranking out one article after another and hoping some will generate interest and traffic — like flinging mud at a wall and hoping some will stick — how about working less and laser targeting your article writing efforts so they actually do create traffic to your site?

Don’t assume that article marketing simply involves submitting articles to article directories. Directory submissions won't mean that the article will actually get viewed, and it also won't mean that people will click the backlink.

Create titles that draw attention from prospects and from Google as well.

D. Create A Desire From The Article Body For The Reader.

Use psychological triggers. Here are a few words that trigger attention in titles, headlines and sub-headlines.

A. Create A Strong Call To Action In The Resource Box.

Never under estimate the power of the resource box also known as the author's elevator pitch! The resource box or 'author bio' is 1 to 3 sentences below your article body.

Not Just A Resource Box - A Call To Action With Incentive!

Many article writers make this one big mistake: The resource box will simply say "Mary Jones is an expert at ______, her website is _____.com".

Christopher M. Knight of EzineArticles.com aptly states:
The BODY of your article is where you "GIVE" and the RESOURCE BOX is where you get to "TAKE" for your article marketing gift of information. The resource box is the "currency of payment" you receive for giving away your article. Be sure to include your name, website address, your unique selling proposition as briefly as possible and a simple call to action.

You only get one chance to WoW readers and hundreds of chances to chase them away. Use the main keyword of the article you just wrote and hyperlink it to your real estate website. Be fun and creative but at the same time show that you have a great deal to offer when they arrive at your site.
