Setting career goals as a Realtor is a tough process. Identifying what it is that you want out of your real estate career is not simple.

Although the concept of setting goals in general is great, it's important to set goals in specific areas of your life separately.

What do you think stops most people from achieving what they want out of life? Perhaps it is a lack of talent, lack of ability, personal circumstances, and upbringing. Actually, it's NONE of those.

Lack of action, or not setting goals in the first place is the single biggest reason for not reaching goals. If you don't actually ever start, how do you expect to move forward?

What Am I Doing Here As A Realtor? Is This Really My Passion?

Often we choose a career because it just seems like the right step to make or that is what your studies have generally focused on.

The only problem is that sometimes the passion that we once had as young adults is now gone, or the reality of what's involved with the job of being a real estate agent itself has taken the interest and joy out of it.

That is when it is time for some serious soul searching in order to re-evaluate and set new goals or career objectives.

You need to ask yourself some questions at this stage, such as:

1. Am I making the kind of money that I want to make?
2. Do I really want to make more money?
3. Does money even matter to me?
4. Do I like what I’m doing right now?
5. What am I really passionate about?
6. What could I be doing that would make me happier than I am right now?
7. Would I be happier simply switching areas of the real estate market or would I be happier changing careers all together?
8. Why am I still working here?
9. What is stopping me from leaving the situation I'm in?

These are all vital questions that you need to ask yourself before deciding what your career goals and objectives are going to be. If you are honest with yourself, you will then know exactly which direction you should be going.

Without being honest with yourself you can’t expect to better your life, you can only expect to have to ask yourself these questions all over again until you find your happiness.
