Today's forecast is less rosey. In spite of the press, few are calling this a real estate bottom, with a still gloomy longer term forecast.

Even though the housing statistics indicate noticeable improvement, economists remain firm that a weaker housing market will continue to hold back the broader economic recovery, stating the positive stats aren't strong enough to trigger a brand new buying boom.

The statistics, although not yet pointing to total recovery in the housing sector, reveal that builder incentives, less costly homes and lower home loan rates tend to be keeping the real estate downturn from deepening. A real estate market on stronger footing might help reduce the chance of a prolonged slowdown in economic growth.

I have seen the numerous ups and downs of the Housing market. There's no question that it's a buyers market and will definitely continue to be so for quite sometime. That doesn't necessarily indicate that those who would really benefit from buying will do so.
